Etretat, located in the middle of the limestone cliffs, to the north of Le Havre, offers natural curiosities in a small area that should be blessed one day! A visit to Manneporte, between the Needle’s and the two high cliffs will be a pleasure to visit among the dramatic cliffs, upstream and downstream of an entire town within walking distance!
The roads are perfectly monitored from the village to quickly climb. From the West to the East: Manneporte is a large cliff dug, arched cliffs and less crowded, but also the arch and the Needle. Then, this last, that the paths travel through the void and offer a panorama in Etretat. And in the end, he drew a horizontal line of Amont cliff with real limestone wall.
For long term travelers, Etretat has hostels, not overpriced at all, hey! And the roads are not only limited to the cliffs, but later to the north go to Le Havre and Fécamp. Do not hesitate to get rid of your perch and walk on the low tide gravel to pass under the belt from the large flow down. Sublime!
The Etretat cliffs are well known, and for a good reason, they offer a magnificent panorama over “three doors” to those who want to take the road.
The walk begins on the beach, we pass through the pebbles and we walk under the cliffs, which are gnarled with salt, creating impressive cavities. Later, the Guardian Guard fishermen climbed to the first landscape that we ignored the chapel of Our Lady of Amont (first door). We must continue to observe the other side of the cliffs in a more glamorous way: Aval (second and third door) on the cliff, by the painters and writers with the arc and needle, which are famous by tourists.
A ride in the fresh air of the poem!
